TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION:

As part of the reconstruction of the wastewater treatment plant in INA - Rijeka Oil Refinery, an equalization basin was built, which is divided into 3 fields. A submersible centrifugal electric motor pump of own weight approx. 240 kg was installed in every field of basin. In order for submersible pumps to be assembled and dismantled, a project of an explosion-proof monorail crane with a maximum load capacity of 500 kg was made.

On the reinforced concrete walls of the leveling pool, load-bearing steel columns with brackets were installed, on which a monorail track for driving a hand-held chain crane in anti-explosive design was suspended. The monorail track runs along the edge of all 3 fields of the equalization basin in the bisector above the submersible pumps. At the end of the equalization pool, the track is curved at a 90-degree angle in the horizontal plane. The end of the monorail track extends 2150 mm beyond the dimensions of the pool and is located at a height of 4005 mm above the road to ensure unobstructed access by truck or similar transport vehicle to receive the pumps.

The lifting/lowering drive and the crane driving drive along the monorail track are performed manually, by pulling the control chains from the floor, ie from the pedestrian path.

The basic parts of the steel structure of a monorail crane are as follows:

• curved monorail track IPE 180 x 20 m,
• load-bearing columns with brackets for hanging monorail tracks (pcs.3),
• frame bracket.

The manual chain hoist is made of explosion-proof design, the wheels of the trolley and hooks are covered with a protective layer of bronze, the drive sprocket of the lifting mechanism is made of cast iron, the drive sprocket of the driving mechanism is made of plastic and the steering chain is made of stainless steel. The manual chain crane is manufactured by "KITO" Japan, type: CBSG005 ATEX.
