  • trolley travel speed: 20/5 m/min
  • bridge speed: 40/12 m/min

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION:

For the needs of investor, company Goes Ltd., a single-girder bridge crane project was made. The maximum load capacity of the crane is 8 t, and the span of the bridge is 14,52 m, while the lifting height is 6,03 m. The crane is mounted in the production hall of Goes Ltd.

All working movements of the crane: driving the bridge, suspended trolley and lifting/lowering the load, are electrically driven.

The crane is operated from the floor using a radio remote control unit. In the event of a fault in the radio remote control unit, a suspended cable control unit with reduced voltage is installed as a backup.

Since the crane moves on the crane track on which the existing crane is already driving, a photoelectric sensor has been installed which switches off the drive of the bridge when the crane approaches the existing crane at a distance of 5 m. The cranes must be kept at the mentioned minimum distance in order to avoid overloading the crane track in case the cranes with maximum loads are placed next to each other in the middle of the crane track segment.

A single-girder bridge crane consists of:

  • steel structure, consisting of:
    • main girder derived from HEB profile,
    • end carriages made of rectangular steel pipe,
  • electric driving hoist,
  • electric installations.

The electrical equipment of the crane consists of:

  • electric motor of the lifting mechanism with brakes,
  • electric motors with brakes for driving a hoist,
  • two electric motors with brakes for driving the bridge,
  • control cabinet,
  • limit switches for switching off the lift drive, the hoist drive and the bridge drive,
  • radio remote control button with reduced voltage,
  • spare suspended control button,
  • anti-collision devices with another crane,
  • main switches, and
  • power and control cables within the crane itself.

At the ends of the crane track, steel bumpers were installed as a safety against the crane falling off the track. In the same way, the movement of the driving hoist along the main crane girder is limited.
